RevoLOOtion – a vehicle for change
By enabling disabled children and adults to use the toilet or be changed with dignity and respect, the RevoLOOtion service helps to break down barriers that often exclude them from participating in activities and events. It is important to recognise that lack of appropriate facilities can be a major obstacle for disabled individuals and a service as run by the charity "Vehicles for Change" can make a real difference in their lives.
What is inside a RevoLOO?
Each unit has the following, plus a wonderful Driver/Attendant who sets it up as well as keeping it clean and hygienic
Toilet
A toilet with retractable grab rails on each side
Hoist
The use of an electric hoist can greatly enhance the accessibility of a facility like a RevoLOO
Changing table
An adjustable height changing table which allows the user to be moved with care easily
Some facts about disability
One in six people globally have a significant disability. In the UK there are many more disabled people than often assumed. According to disability charity SCOPE, 60% of those asked generally underestimate this figure.
In the UK, 9% of children, and 42% of people of pensionable age are disabled.
